Burmese Dance
No trip to Myanmar is complete without a visit to a Burmese dance show. There are several different styles of Burmese dance and each are unique in their own ways. Discover which style is your favorite and gaze in awe at the talented dancers and their amazing costumes. Burmese dance is a tradition that has been passed down for centuries and is one of the things that makes Myanmar so unique.
Cooking classes
Take a morning or an afternoon to learn about traditional Burmese food. Travel to the bustling market with your chef to collect the ingredients for your food and then learn how to prepare a customary three-course meal. Cigar Making
Make sure to stop at any number of the cigar-making villages on Inle Lake or throughout the rest of the country to watch the process behind making the famous Burmese “Cheroot” cigars. Learn about the customs at traditions involved in the process and they way entire villages can be supported by this industry.
Cycling
Join one of our biking tours and bike through the beautiful country of Myanmar. One of the most amazing things about this country is the beautiful natural scenery and what better way to see it than from your bike as you slowly cycle along.
Dining
Experience the different kinds of Burmese cuisine at the many different restaurants throughout the country. Notice the different cuisines and different styles of cooking that are unique to each region of the country. Dolphins
No trip is complete without a visit to the famous Irrawaddy River. While you are cruising along, keep your eyes peeled for the Irrawaddy dolphins that swim in these waters.
Elephants
While in Myanmar, visit one of the many elephant sanctuaries or conservation centers in the country. Learn more about these majestic creatures and their history within the country. While you are there, you will have time to play with them, bathe them, and feed them. It is certainly an opportunity not to be missed!
Fishing
Visit one of the villages along the Irrawaddy River or one of the stilted villages on Inle Lake to learn the traditional style of fishing that is practiced in Myanmar. While you are on Inle Lake, make sure to notice the unique style of rowing used by the fishermen on the lake.
Hiking/Trekking
Myanmar has a number of beautiful treks for travelers to take. The country is full of mountains and dense jungle which provide perfect conditions for hiking. Follow your guide through the heavily forested areas to see beautiful landscapes and stunning panoramas of the surrounding areas.
Homestays
Experience a homestay with one of the many hill tribes that have made Myanmar their home. Learn about the traditions and customs unique to each group and experience their daily life. Homestays are a once in a lifetime experience and will give you great insight into the culture and customs of these people.
Horse Cart Rides
Horse cart rides are available all throughout Myanmar and are a fun and unique way to travel. Hop into the back of one of the carts and ride out of the cities and into the countryside to see the beautiful landscapes that surround the urban areas.
Islands
While you are in Myanmar, visit the Mergui Archipelago. Arguably, one of the most beautiful parts of the country (and of Southeast Asia), the Mergui Archipelago lies off of the southern coast of Myanmar and to the west of Thailand. Spend a few days cruising through the islands, snorkeling, scuba diving, and soaking up the sun with friends or family.
Lake Cruise
Inle Lake is one of the most popular destinations in Myanmar and for good reason! The large lake is incredibly beautiful and is home to several different ancient monuments as well as several stilted villages. The lake provides beautiful panoramas and is surrounded by gorgeous landscapes. A cruise through Inle Lake will allow guests to revel in its physical beauty while learning about the different communities around the lake and the history that surrounds the area.
Massage
Enjoy a traditional Burmese massage at one of the many spas located throughout the city of Myanmar. After several days of traveling, getting a treatment at one of the local spas is a great way to take a load off, treat yourself, and really relax.
Markets
No trip to Myanmar is complete without ample spent wandering through the busy markets. Pick up a snack, purchase some souvenirs for your friends back home, or simply sit back and watch the world go by. These bustling centres can also be a good way to catch a glimpse into the daily life of locals.
Nat Dance
One of the most important styles of Burmese dance is Nat Dance. A Nat is a spirit and the dance is performed as a kind of worship of these spirits. Come enjoy dinner and watch a traditional Nat dance.
Pottery Workshop
There are several different villages known for their pottery throughout the country of Myanmar. One of the most popular villages for visitors is Yandabo Village. Come enjoy a demonstration of how their pottery is made. Observe each step of the process in action and purchase one of the beautiful completed pieces at the end as a souvenir of this wonderful experience!
River Cruise
An Irrawaddy River cruise is one of the best experiences to have in Myanmar. Come relax on a luxurious boat and watch the world go by from the deck.
