What to do in Southeast Asia

ATV/ Quad Bike Touring

After touring around the world famous ruins of Angkor, join the Adventure Asia suggested adventure activity through outskirt of Siem Reap. Crab your helmet and water and hop on your Quad bike /ATV tour just for a few hours just.  Drive through tranquil back road through village to see real life of people and scenery of Cambodian country side with animals, buffaloes, cows and more. We suggest taking afternoon tour while the heat is low and color of sky turns brighter and beautiful view country side and village during sunset.

The tour will be escorted by at least one support staff from the ATV office from the beginning to the end tour.

Angkor mini Golfing

Founded by a former tour Angkor tour guide, the Angkor mini Golf set just out shirt of Siem Reap which is around 5 kilometers, along the lovely street surrounded by local communities.

The design wad made of the form, accurate scale models of Angkor’s major temples of Angkor including Angkor Wat, Bayon, Terrace of The Elephants, Ta Prohm and Preah Vihear temples.

Ballooning

Note: There is only one helium balloon flight all day long to see the scenic view over temple of Angkor Wat, Phnom Bakheng and Angkor Thom city in Siem Reap.

Biking /Cycling Adventures

Join one of our biking tours and bike through the beautiful country of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.  One of the most amazing things about this country is the beautiful natural scenery and what better way to see it than from your bike as you slowly cycle along.

Bike in/around the Angkor park, through the dense forest of Angkor area, along the country side of Burna, from north to south crossing mountains of Laos, through the nature and tropical forest of Thailand, and along the mountain valleys and Mekong river of Vietnam. 

Khmer Boxing and Muay Thai

Khmer/Thai boxing is a combat sport that uses stand-up striking as well as a number of clinching techniques.  The sport requires great amounts of physical and mental discipline and training.  The sport is also known as “the art of eight limbs” because it is characterized by the use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins in order to utilize all parts of the body in this fighting technique.  There are boxcamps all throughout Thailand that offer lessons to travelers interested in learning this amazing form of combat. 

Camping

Travelling to Asia the guests may love adventure. Take a moment to think about how to escape from the crowds, heat and commercial city.  Asia has many things to see and to do to be more fun. Spend overnight stay in the camp at many camp sites through each country. Camp somewhere along the Mekong river, on the mountain ranges in north and south of Cambodia, by some waterfalls in Laos, near the great lake and sea of the regions in South east Asia, by the villages and monasteries in Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and Burma,. Cigar Making

Make sure to stop at any number of the cigar-making villages on Inle Lake or throughout the rest of the country to watch the process behind making the famous Burmese “Cheroot” cigars.  Learn about the customs at traditions involved in the process and the way entire villages can be supported by this industry.

Caving

Saddan Cave in Burma

Saddan Caves is a massive cave (about the size of a football stadium) just outside of Hpa-An.  Upon entering the cave, one is confronted with a dozen statues of the Buddha as well as clay wall carvings and several other religious monuments.  Bring a torch and wander through the darkness as the bats hang between stalactites and screech overhead.  At the far side of the cave, visitors will emerge into sunlight to find a beautiful lake full of ducks and floating vegetation.

Tiger Cave Temple

This ancient Buddhist temple is one of the most sacred places in Krabi Province in Thailand.  Hike up the strenuous staircase to explore the temple and look up at the giant Buddha towering over you.  Don’t forget to check out the tiger paw prints inside the temple, the reason for the temple’s name. Laos is a really recommended destination to those caves where not many of travelers missed their adventure trips

Downhill Adventure – Cycling in Bali

The guests begin their year around adventure off overlooking batur Mountain, where the really pretty volcano with a crater lake at its bottom feet. Begin their downhill adventure and spread down the hills and natural beauty of the country side plus greenery.

Stop and over look at the scenery surroundings including the village houses of Burmese people. Finally the guest will ride through the rice terraces before packing their bike home.

Fishing:  Fishing

Visit one of the villages along the Irrawaddy River or one of the stilted villages on Inle Lake to learn the traditional style of fishing that is practiced in Myanmar.  While you are on Inle Lake, make sure to notice the unique style of rowing used by the fishermen on the lake.

Take your time in Cambodia for a half day touring by private boat on the world largest fresh water lake, Tonle Sap Lake which considers as the bowl of many spices / fresh waterfish and living creatures. Mekong River is a great option for travelers who love water cruising and fishing when they are in Vietnam and Laos.

Helicopter touring

One of the activities you might not miss is the Helicopter tour, the scenic view touring over the ancient monuments of Angkor, plus Angkor Wat, the Bayon, Taprom and others nearby. Cambdia is the most geographically useful country for adventure travelers to do their trek and hike. The country has such many area to do, those are mountainous area of Phnom Kulen in Siem Reap, natural dense forest of Kbla Spean where both of  them travelers begin from the real bottom root and up the peak. Trek through tropical forest in Rattanakiri and Mondulkiri to explore really rare wildlife and minority groups.

Horse cart rides are available all throughout Myanmar and in Siem Reap Angkor Cambodia and are a fun and unique way to travel.  Hop into the back of one of the carts and ride out of the cities and into the countryside to see the beautiful landscapes that surround the urban areas.

Horse Back Riding

For adventure travelers would be fit and more fun to take horseback riding in Siem Reap Cambodia. Hop and horse back and stroll around the rural village of Siem Reap to see real life of locals. Stop in the village, the travelers are interacted by really friendly locals and helped by local guide/ support staff for language communication.

Islands

While you are in Myanmar, visit the Mergui Archipelago.  Arguably, one of the most beautiful parts of the country (and of Southeast Asia), the Mergui Archipelago lies off of the southern coast of Myanmar and to the west of Thailand.  Spend a few days cruising through the islands, snorkeling, scuba diving, and soaking up the sun with friends or family.

Kayaking:  Cambodia, Thailand, Loas and Vietnam

Instead of taking a cruise, choose the more adventurous option!  Grab a life jacket, grab a kayak, grab a friend, and hit the waters! Elephants

While in Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand visit one of the many elephant sanctuaries or conservation centers in the country.  Learn more about these majestic creatures and their history within the country.  While you are there, you will have time to play with them, bathe them, and feed them.  It is certainly an opportunity not to be missed!

The most joyful adventure is taking an elephant ride in Angkor park, the four different short ride destinations begin from the Southgate of Angkor Thom as first route around 20mn, ride around the Bayon temple as second route around 2omn, then tour in front of Terrace of the Elephants in Angkor Thom for 20mnm as third route and the last route, ride up Bakhmeng Mountain at sunset.   

Photography and Film

Angkr Wat and surroundings in Cambodia, the highlight for Photography adventure tour, begin the trip from dawn at the world famous sacred monument with your tripod and all equipment. Get to the site early the guests will see the sun rise just behind the building, the color changes and the sharp ray spread over the temple towers, the light morning shady cloud appear along with cool win to make travelers feel like staying in ne part f the universe.

River/water cruising

Tonle Sap Lake is great source for river cruising tour. When the guests board on cruise and travel almost one day from Siem Reap – Phnom Penh- Siem Reap, they feel like their life adventure crossing the ocean and wonder how people can live entire year on the water.

Mekong Cruise tour: The same when one takes a cruise tour or luxury hotel cruise from Phnom Penh-HCM-Phnom Penh along the Mekong River, realizes that true life in their eyes, they must have left their heartfelt in the area where people live as life if quite different when they live on the water.

An Irrawaddy River cruise is one of the best experiences to have in Myanma.  Come relax on a luxurious boat and watch the world go by from the deck.  These cruises will take you through some of the most stunning scenery that the country has to offer as well as providing you with a comfortable traveling experience and a wealth of knowledge about the areas that you pass through.

Inle Lake is one of the most popular destinations in Myanmar and for good reason!  The large lake is incredibly beautiful and is home to several different ancient monuments as well as several stilted villages.  The lake provides beautiful panoramas and is surrounded by gorgeous landscapes.  A cruise through Inle Lake will allow guests to revel in its physical beauty while learning about the different communities around the lake and the history that surrounds the area.

Railing and Rock Claiming:

Railay Beach: Railay is a small peninsula between Krabi and Ao Nang in Thailand. In order to reach Railay, one must take a boat due to the towering limestone cliffs that cut off access to the mainland.  Famous for rock-climbing, the area is also known for its beautiful beaches and relaxing atmosphere.  It is easy to find affordable accommodation (not always true on Thailand’s coastlines).  Ton Sai is popular with climbers and backpackers while the more glamorous side of the peninsula is found in West Railay.  Many of the shops and restaurants are located on the East Railay boardwalk.

Snorkeling – Snorkeling and Scuba Diving

Rent snorkeling or diving equipment and explore the underwater corals and marine life in the Gulf of Thailand or in the Andaman Bay. Ko Tao in Thailand is a small island that is particularly well-known for the best conditions for scuba diving and snorkeling.

Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia

The great Tonle Sap lake is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and you can see lots of wildlife in the area. The lake is great for fishing and full of all different kinds of fish. Bird watchers will enjoy a visit to the Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary Biosphere. Or you can visit one of the floating villages which sit on top of the great lake. Locals have made the water their home. In the dry season, you’ll see homes sitting on top of large stilts which sit just above the water when the area floods in the wet season.

Zip lining

For those seeking an adrenaline rush, enjoy a tree-top tour by zipline!  Most zip line tours in Thailand are located in the mountainous northern region of the country, although there are some located in the south as well. Zip through the trees and learn about the different species of birdlife, wildlife, and plant life in the region you are traveling through. And the one zipline touring here is in Angkor which is the most convenient way to do when you are in Angkor.
