This tour is not for the faint of heart! If you are the kind of person that loves the great outdoors, exercise, beautiful scenery, and small town life, then this is the tour for you! Starting and ending in Yangon, this tour will take guests on a once in a lifetime trek through the beautiful country of Myanmar. The trip will take you through the well-known cities like the ancient Kingdom of Myanmar, Mandalay, and the archaeological site, Bagan, as well as taking you through smaller villages (located in the valleys of the Chin Hills) and giving you an opportunity to have a truly Burmese experience.

Day 1: Yangon
Meals: Dinner
Itinerary: On the first day, guests will arrive in Yangon where they will be met by their guide and brought to their hotel for check-in. Guests will have the rest of the afternoon to recover and explore the city before reconvening for an introductory meeting with the guide as well as the rest of the group followed by a group dinner at one of the many delicious eateries in Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon | Bagan
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: On the second day, guests will depart early for a quick flight to Bagan. After checking into the hotel in Bagan, guests will embark on a tour of this spectacular archaeological site. The tour will lead guests through the 4000 temples that are located in Bagan; from the most famous to some of the beautiful hidden gems. In the evening, we will catch a beautiful sunset from the top of one of the temples: Shwe Nan Yin Daw.

Day 3: Bagan | Mindat
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: Today, guests will enjoy a wonderful breakfast at the hotel in Bagan before setting out. Guests will hop into an air-conditioned van to cross the Irrawaddy River to drive to the Pontaung mountain range (an area that has proved to be very archaeologically important as it played host to fossils that date back 50 million years). After lunch, the drive will continue through areas with lower altitude and a more tropical climate before reaching Mindat.

Day 4: Mindat | Heelong
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: Guests will rise and shine early on the fourth day to explore the streets of Mindat as the monks perform a ritual walk through the town, collecting alms along the way. This little adventure will be followed by a trip to a local monastery that offers beautiful views of the surrounding areas. In the afternoon, the group will travel to the trailhead to meet the trekking crew and begin the hike. The hike will start small with a short two hour trek through a pine forest to Heelong.

Day 5: Heelong | Phwe | Amlong
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: Today, guests will really get into the trekking; setting out for a 3.5 hour trek after breakfast. The group will stop in Phwe for lunch, followed by a rather difficult descent to the River Chi and another 4 hours of trekking. Finally, the group will reach Amlong where they will spend the night.

Day 6: Amlong | Madat
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: Today guests will climb from the bottom of the valley to the village of Kyar Ai Nuu where they will learn about the clay pipes that are made in this small village. This informational session will be followed by a yummy lunch. After lunch, guests will make the descent to the bottom of the valley, cross the river, and continue trekking for 3 more hours before reaching Madat.

Day 7: Madat | Kyardo | Aye
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: Day 7 marks the halfway point in our tour. This morning guests will set out to hike along a winding path to the village of Kyardo where they will enjoy a delicious lunch and some time exploring the village. In the afternoon, guests will embark on another 4 hour trek through a densely forested area that will lead the group to Aye. Take some time to look out at the beautiful views that the guesthouse has to offer.

Day 8: Aye | Do Nuu
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: Today, with Mt. Victoria in the distance, guests will continue their trek. Today’s journey will lead the group through more forested areas with a few steep ascents. The group will also pass through several banana plantations before reaching Do Nuu.

Day 9: Do Nuu | Mt. Victoria
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: Today is the big day! After breakfast, guests will join the trail that leads to Mt. Victoria. A four hour trek will bring us to the base camp and it will take another hour to reach the summit of the mountain where we will set up camp for the night. Make sure to dig your cold-weather gear from the depths of your backpack as the weather on top of the mountain is significantly cooler and windier. The rest of the afternoon can be spent wandering around the summit and enjoying a beautiful sunset as you look out at the incredible views of the surrounding areas.
Overnight stay on Mount Victoria.
Day 10: Mt. Victoria | Kampalat | Bagan
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: This morning, guests will wake up early to watch the beautiful sunrise and enjoy breakfast on the mountain top. After saying goodbye to our wonderful trekking crew, our tour will hop into jeeps that will bring us back to civilization: Kampalat. Upon arrival in Kamapalat, we will visit the market and have a tea at a local shop before continuing on: back to Bagan!

Day 11: Gili Nanggu | Senggigi
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: This morning, guests will start to travel from Gili Nanggu to Senggigi. The town of Senggigi is great for anyone wishing to bar hop and let loose for an evening. There will also be an option to go kayaking upon arrival.

Day 12: Mandalay | Sagaing | Mingun
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: Today, the tour will set out early to watch the iconic sunrise over the U Bein Bridge as the city awakens. The group will then head back to the hotel for breakfast before embarking on our Irrawaddy River cruise. The cruise will first stop in Mingun where guests will have the opportunity to explore and catch a glimpse of the famously huge bell that Mingun is known for. The cruise will then continue to Sagaing, a place known for its quiet, spiritual, tranquility; a good escape from city life. After exploring the stupas, caves, and shrines of Sagaing, we will climb back onboard our boat and head back to Mandalay for the evening.

Day 13: Mandalay | Yangon
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: On the second to last day of our wonderful tour, guests will travel (by plane) back to Yangon where they will have the rest of the morning to relax. In the afternoon, guests will visit Yangon’s famous sites like Lake Kandawgyi and the striking Shwedagon Pagoda, where we will enjoy one last sunset together over beautiful Yangon.

Meals: Breakfast
Itinerary: Sadly, our tour comes to an end today. Guests will say their goodbyes and travel on to their next destination.
