Cultural Tour of Burma 10Days
Day 1: Yangon
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: On the first day, guests will arrive in Yangon where they will be met by their guide and brought to their hotel for check-in. Check-in will be followed by a tour through the colonial-style center of the city in which guests will visit the famous monuments of Yangon, Bogyoke Market, finishing the tour by visiting the spectacular Shwedagon Pagoda that dominates the Yangon skyline.

Day 2: Yangon | Bagan
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: After breakfast, guests will travel by place to Bagan. The time spent in Bagan will start with a visit to the Nyaung U Market followed by a tour of all of the temples located in this ancient kingdom. Guests will end the day on a horse cart ride through the city as the sun sets over the horizon.

Day 3: Bagan | Popa | Bagan
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: After breakfast on the third day, guests will take a 90 minute drive to Mount Popa, one of the most spiritual places in Myanmar. After paying their respects to the Nat Shrine, guests will climb up 800 steps to reach the pagoda on the top of the mountain and stand in awe of the amazing views of the surrounding region. Afterwards, guests will visit a family shop that specializes in making candy from the sap of toddy palm trees. In the evening, guests will return to Bagan.

Day 4: Bagan | Mandalay
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: After breakfast today, guests will travel by plane to Mandalay. After exploring the city a bit, guests will be led to the Artisan Quarters where they can witness the traditional process of making of arts and crafts that date back to the last Kingdom of Myanmar. This visit will be followed by a tour of the most famous landmarks of Mandalay including the Royal Palace and the Kuthodaw Pagoda which contains stone tables, engraved with the teaching of the Buddha.
Overnight stay in Bagan. In the evening, guests will watch the spectacular sunset from Mandalay Hill.

Day 5: Mandalay | Amarapura | Ava | Sagaing | Mandalay
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: Today, guests will enjoy their breakfast before travelling to Amarapura to visit the monks that study and live in the Mahagandayon Monastery. After visiting the Monastery, guests will visit several other sites that the city is famous for before travelling to Ava, the ancient capital of Shan and Burmese Kingdoms. Upon arrival in Ava, guests will hop into a horse cart to tour the city and the many famous landmarks that the city has to offer. The last stop of the day will be in Sagaing just across the massive Irrawaddy River. From here, guests will look out upon the magnificent view of pagodas scattered across the hillside and visit a monastery to learn about the lives of Buddhist monks.

Day 6: Mandalay | Heho | Kalaw
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: After a delicious breakfast, guests will travel by plane to Heho. After a visit to the buys market and picking up some wonderful handmade souvenirs, the tour will continue to Kalaw. On the way, guests will stop at a local family’s workshop to learn more about how traditional Shan umbrellas are made. Upon arrival in Kalaw, guests will check into the hotel and spend the afternoon as they please: relaxing in the refreshing mountain air or going for a guided hike on one of the nearby trails.

Day 7: Kalaw | Pindaya | Inle Lake
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: After a delicious breakfast, guests will walk to the Kalaw market and sample some local tea and pastries at a Burmese tea shop. Afterwards, the tour will take a 1.5 hour drive across the beautiful Shan highlands to reach the Pindaya Caves that house countless striking rock formations as well as thousands of images of the Buddha. After another two hour drive, guests will reach the gorgeous Inle Lake, where they will visit the floating islands and gardens and visit with the Inn Thar people, a minority group that lives on the lake.

Day 8: Inle Lake
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: After breakfast, guests will visit the Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda and the Inpawkhon Weaving Village to learn about the local textiles and styles of fabric-making. Next, guests will make time for some cuddly friends as they visit a house that has been built over the lake in order to preserve a rare breed of cat local to Myanmar that live there. Finally, guests will travel to Nampan Village where they will see the process behind packing and rolling traditional Burmese cigars.

Day 8: Candidasa | Nusa Penida
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: This morning, guests will travel to the Benoa Marina to journey by boat to Nusa Penida. Enjoy the cool breeze as you relax onboard. Upon arrival in Nusa Penida, guests will have the option to go snorkeling.
Overnight stay in Nusa Penida.
Day 9: Inle Lake | Inn Thein | Yangon
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: On the last full day of the tour, guests will take journey by boat down a small river to the Inn Thein Pagoda Complex. Walking through thick groves of bamboo and out into an open field to reach the actual complex dotted with pagodas all built over 1,000 years ago. After exploring the complex, guests will travel by boat to Nyaung Shwe where they will catch a car to Heho and travel by plane back to Yangon.

Day 10: Yangon
Activities: Departure
Meals: Breakfast
Itinerary: Sadly, our tour comes to an end today. Guests will enjoy a final breakfast, say their goodbyes, and continue on to their next destination.
