Day 1: Yangon
Meals: Dinner
Itinerary: On the first day, guests will arrive in Yangon where they will be met by their guide and brought to their hotel for check-in. Newlyweds with have the rest of the afternoon to recover and explore the city before reconvening for dinner. Dinner will be a meal of delicious Burmese food overlooking the Royal Lake, followed by a cultural show of music and dancing.

Day 2: Yangon
Meals: Breakfast
Itinerary: Today guests will enjoy a lovely breakfast at their hotels before heading out to explore the Shwedagon pagoda. The visit to the famous pagoda will be followed by a trip to the Sule Pagoda and downtown Yangon to admire the British colonial architecture that remains intact today. The day will finish with a trip to Myanmar’s holiest monument, the reclining buddha at Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda followed by some last minute shopping in the bustling markets.

Day 3: Yangon | Inle Lake
Meals: Breakfast
Itinerary: This morning, guests will depart from Yangon to travel by plane to Inle Lake via the city of Heho. Inle Lake is one of the largest lakes in Myanmar and is home to the Intha people. The drive from the airport to the lake itself will take an hour. From there, guests will climb into a motorboat for a tour to Phaungdawoo Pagoda, considered by many to be the most important religious relic on the lake. This visit will be followed by a visit to Ngaphechaung Pagoda (or the “Jumping Cat Pagoda”) as well as a glimpse into the Intha people’s traditional customs of cotton and lotus weaving as well as cigar-making.

Day 4: Inle Lake | Indein | Inle Lake
Meals: Breakfast
Itinerary: On our second day at Inle Lake, couples will depart in the morning for the 5-day Market, held in different villages around the lake. This visit will prove to be an excellent place to purchase some unique souvenirs as well as to catch a further glimpse into the culture and customs of the local people that live on this lake. After enjoying a yummy lunch, guests will hop back into the boat to visit the temple of Indein that sits atop a hill overlooking Inle Lake. After exploring the temple, the boat will take newlyweds back to the resort to relax for the evening.

Day 5: Inle Lake | Heho | Mandalay
Meals: Breakfast
Itinerary: After breakfast on the fifth day, couples will catch a quick flight from Heho to Mandalay. Upon arrival, guests will travel to their hotel in the center of the city where they will have some time to settle in before embarking on a tour of the city. First they will visit the famous Mahagandaryone Monastery to watch the Buddhist monks enjoy their afternoon meal and rice ceremony. Guests will then walk to the nearby U Bein Bridge and visit Kyautawgyi. Guests will return to the city by boat, checking out Taugthaman Lake on the way. Guests will visit Mandalay Palace and Kuthowdaw Pagoda in the afternoon and finish the day by climbing Mandalay Hill to watch the sunset over the city and the surrounding landscapes.

Day 6: Mandalay | Mingun | Sagaing
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: This morning, guests will sail upstream to the Mingun Pagoda Complex to explore this unfinished work of religious architecture and see the famously huge Mingun Bell. Couples will enjoy a lovely lunch onboard the boat before continuing down the river to Sagaing to explore the small city and watch the sunset from Sagaing Hill. The boat will dock at a sandbank further down the river where guests will enjoy a delicious dinner and a Traditional Dance show.

Day 7: Sagaing | Yandabo Village
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Itinerary: This morning, guests will continue their cruise downstream to Yandabo Village. The village is well-known for its production of terracotta from the clay that makes up the banks of the river. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the many different steps to the process of the pottery-making that occurs in Yandabo Village. The guests will then continue their cruise downstream to dock near Chindwin Confluence for the night.

Day 8: Bagan
Meals: Breakfast
Itinerary: This morning, couples will set sail early in the morning and arrive in Bagan around 9:00am, ready to explore the ancient archaeological masterpieces of Bagan. After departing from the boat, guests will start the day with a trip to the Nyang U Market in the Old City of Bagan, after which they will continue on to wander through the gold leaf Shwezigon Pagoda. The afternoon will be spent touring a local workshop to learn about the traditional style of lacquering. In the early evening guests will climb to the top of ShweSandaw Pagoda to watch the beautiful sunset.

Day 9: Bagan
Meals: Breakfast
Itinerary: The entire day today will be spent exploring even more of the 3,000 ancient pagodas and temples scattered throughout the city of Bagan.

Day 10: Bagan
Meals: Breakfast
Itinerary: Couples will start early this morning to take a glorious hot air balloon ride over Bagan. Seeing the city from this perspective and reveling in the gorgeous views is truly a once in a lifetime experience that newlyweds will thoroughly enjoy. Guests will be welcomed back to the ground with sparkling wine and fresh fruits as well as a certificate signed by the balloon pilot. This exciting jaunt will be followed by a horse cart ride! This ride will start at Nan Paya Pagoda (the biggest temple in Bagan) and will continue past many other important and interesting sites nearby. In the evening, newlyweds will enjoy yet another amazing sunset in Myanmar.

Itinerary: Today marks the end our our honeymooners tour. Guests will say their sad goodbyes and continue on to their next destination. The trip may be over, but the memories of your time in this beautiful country will last a lifetime! Join AAT on another trip soon, we will miss you!
