Day 1: Yogyakarta
Activities: Arrival – Batik and leather puppet demonstrations – Afternoon at leisure

Meals: Lunch

Itinerary: On the first day of the tour, guests will arrive in Yogyakarta where they will be met by their guide and taken to a nearby batik factory to learn about this traditional artform.  Afterwards, guests will have a chance to watch a demonstration of Wayang Kulit, the famous Javanese leather puppet before enjoying a delicious lunch at a restaurant nearby.  Later, guests will head to their hotel to check-in and spend the rest of their afternoon relaxing after their long journey.

Day 2: Yogyakarta | Borobudur | Yogyakarta
Activities: City tour of Yogyakarta – Temple visits

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Itinerary: After good nights sleep and a yummy breakfast, guests will travel to a traditional market nearby. Here, your guide will lead you through the rows of local fruits, vegetables, and spices, teaching you along the way about the different flavors that make Indonesian food unique.  You will also explore the medicinal section of the market that will provide you with a whole host of different local medicines made by blending different herbs and spices to treat different ailments.  Afterwards, guests will travel to the the Sultan’s Palace, also known as Kraton.  Wander through the various rooms here to better appreciate the history of Indonesian royalty and architecture.  Guests will then have a chance to visit Taman Sari, the water palace and garden, built over 200 years ago.  After lunch at a local eatery, guests will travel west to explore the largest Buddhist Temple in the world and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Borobudur.  Wander aimlessly through the man-made temple and stand in awe at the intricate carvings that cover the walls.  This visit will be followed by another visit to the pyramid-shaped Mendut Temple and a visit to Pawon Temple.  After visits to these three temples, guests will be tired, and our group will return to the hotel to where the rest of the afternoon will be free for guests to relax or explore the city on their own.

Day 3: Yogyakarta | Candi Plaosan | Prambanan Temple | Yogyakarta
Activities: Cycling trip – Temple visits

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Itinerary: After breakfast on the third day, guests will travel an hour outside of Yogyakarta for a two hour cycling trip.  Our group will travel through a village with views of Mt. Merapi, our bicycle ride will end in Candi Plaosan. Afterwards, guests will have a chance to relax as they enjoy a delicious lunch.  After our meal, guests will continue on to visit the ancient, Hindu Prambanan Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Guests will then be taken back to their hotel to spend the rest of the afternoon and their evening at their leisure.

Day 4: Yogyakarta | Mojokerto
Activities: Train ride to Mojokerto

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Itinerary: Guests will wake up early this morning and eat a boxed breakfast on the road as the group travels, by scenic train ride, to Mojokerto in East Java.  Upon arrival, guests will check into their hotel and enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep before more adventures tomorrow!

Day 5: Mojokerto | Mount Bromo | Banyuwangi
Activities: Sunrise at Mount Bromo – Horseback ride to Bromo crater – Travel to Banyuwangi

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Itinerary: Guests will wake up early again this morning for a sunrise 4WD Jeep tour of Mount Bromo, enjoy these incredible views and take lots of pictures!  After the sun rises, the group will continue in the Jeep to visit a few more interesting and picturesque spots on the mountain.  From the Jeep, guests will transfer to horseback to ride to the edge of the still-active Bromo crater.  Afterwards, guests will return to the hotel by horse or Jeep (your choice!) and enjoy a delicious breakfast and continue our journey to Banyuwangi.

Day 6: Banyuwangi | Mount Ijen | Kali Klatak | Banyuwangi
Activities: Mount Ijen trek – Kali Klatak Plantation

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Itinerary: This morning, guests will enjoy another 4WD Jeep tour to Mount Ijen.  After the 90 minute drive, guests will trek 3k to the top of the mountain to see the great crater lake surrounded by sulphur mines and full of steaming, acidic water.  Watching the miners work can be a very special experience, teaching guests about different forms of income in Indonesia as well as the mining industry in the region.  Guests will return to the base camp on the same path and continue to a nearby coffee plantation, Kali Klatak.  Here guests will learn about the growing and harvesting processes of cacao, coffee, pepper, and rubber, sampling some of the edible products along the way and finishing the afternoon with a lovely tea while gazing at a beautiful view of Bali.

Day 7: Banyuwangi | Lovina
Activities: Travel to Lovina

Meals: Breakfast

Itinerary: This morning guests will travel via the Bali straits to the island of Bali.  Upon reaching the island, guests will continue by road to Lovina, a famous black-sand beach on Bali’s northern coast.  Guests can spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach, exploring the local village, or just resting by the pool at the resort.

Day 8: Lovina | Kintamani | Ubud
Activities: Balinese temple visits – Visit Kintamani – Lake Batur

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Itinerary: Guests will have a chance to sleep in this morning before meeting their guide around 10:00am.  First thing, guests will visit the Pura Beji temple, famous for intricate stone carvings as well as being the largest “Rice” temple in Bali.  Guests will continue on to the temple of Pura Puncak Penulisan to witness a truly astounding 360 degree view across the valley below.  Guests will then travel to the crater village of Kintamani to see incredible views over Lake Batur and the volcano located there (the most active in Bali!).  After a late lunch, guests will continue to Ubud where they will check into their hotel and spend their evening as they please.

Day 9: Ubud
Activities: Rice field walk – Blanco Museum – Monkey Forest – Balinese dance show

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Itinerary: This morning, guests will set out to visit the lush rice terraces in Tegalalang.  Take two hour trek with your guide to learn about the system that the Balinese people use to grow rice. Afterwards, guests will visit the Blanco Renaissance Museum to view the art of Antonio Blanco, one of the most famous artists to ever live in Bali.  Lunch will be eaten at a local restaurant along the Ubud River.  After lunch, guests will go to the Sacred Monkey Forest to visit another temple, Pura Dalem Angung.  The afternoon will be free for guests to relax or explore central Ubud.  In the evening guests will attend a local Balinese dance performance before going their separate ways for dinner.

Day 10: Ubud | Candidasa
Activities: Ubud Market – Kertagosa – Besakih – Tirta Gangga

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Itinerary: After breakfast this morning, guests will tour the traditional Ubud Market.  This can prove to be one of the most authentic experience of the whole trip as guests will have the opportunity to mingle with the locals, people-watch, and witness firsthand the different flavors, smells, and textures that are typical to everyday life in Ubud.  Guests will then continue on Kertagosa, the Royal Court of Justice, to see the beautifully painted ceiling that depicts a battle of good vs. evil as well as the impressive way that the building sits atop a fish pond, giving it the appearance of floating.  Guests will then continue to visit what is considered to be the “Mother Temple” of Bali, Besakih, located on the slopes of Mount Agung.  Guests will eat lunch nearby before continuing to visit Tirta Gangga, a sacred water palace that boasts many ponds, fountains, and natural bathing pools as well as lots of lush plant life.  From here guests will travel along the roads that travel through the terraced rice fields to the next hotel in Candidasa.

Day 11: Candidasa | Gili Trawangan
Activities: Travel to Gili Trawangan

Meals: Breakfast

Itinerary: Today, guests will transfer to the harbour in Padang Bai after breakfast.  From here, guests will travel to Gili Trawangan where a horse-drawn cart will take you to the hotel where guests will have the rest of the day to enjoy the peaceful island; swim in the clear, blue waters, hike along one of the trails to see some incredible views, relax on the beach or by the pool, and enjoy everything that the island has to offer.

Day 12: Gili Trawangan
Activities: Day at leisure

Meals: Breakfast

Itinerary: There are no planned activities today.  Guests will have the full day to relax and unwind or explore the island.  Snorkeling, island-hopping, scuba diving, or glass bottom boat tours are all available — just ask your guide if you are interested.  Enjoy this day to explore this beautiful paradise and everything it has to offer!

Day 13: Gili Trawangan | Lombok

Activities: Departure

Meals: Breakfast

Itinerary: Guests will have a leisurely morning to enjoy breakfast, pack, and spend some final time on the beach before traveling to Lombok where guests will depart and continue to their next destination.
