Itinerary: On the second day of our tour, guests will start their morning with a tour of Yogyakarta.  The tour will take us to famous sites like the Sultan’s Palace, Tamansari (the Water Castle), the bird market, and finally, the Hindu temple, Borobudur.  The temple is 1200 years old and was rediscovered in the late 19th century after being buried under volcanic dust for hundreds of years.  It is the world’s largest Buddhist monument and the Gupta architecture displays the influence that India once had in the region.  However, the depiction of indigenous scenes help to give the temple uniquely Indonesian vibe.

Itinerary: Today, guests will enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before visiting the Hindu temple of Prambanan.  After this visit, the group will take a scenic 8 hour drive through small towns, villages, and beautiful mountainous land to the city of Malang in East Java.

Itinerary: On the fourth day of our tour, guests will enjoy breakfast at the hotel in Malang before meeting with the trekking guides that will lead the next adventure.  First, the group will travel to Arjuno Lalijiwo Nature Reserve to begin the trek to Lembah Kijang base camp, which lies at the base of Welirang Volcano.  Along the way, we will pass through small villages and lush farmland.  In these areas, guests will have the opportunity to interact with locals and witness the day to day lives of the people that live and work in this area of the country.  The trek will also lead us through dense jungle that will give us opportunities to spot several different kinds of wildlife and plant life.  Upon reaching the base camp, guests will have the evening to settle in, relax, and get to bed early to rest for the big day ahead.

Itinerary: Today guests will trek from the base camp to the summit of Welirang Volcano (and back).  Waking up before the sunrise, guests will set out and trek for approximately 3.5 hours before reaching our destination.  Upon reaching the summit of the volcano, we will explore the crater and its large fumaroles fields,  where the sulphur is mined by the locals.  After exploring, guests will begin the descent and, hopefully, arrive back at camp by 10:00am.  The rest of the day will be free to spend doing as you please — ask your wonderful guide for suggestions!

Itinerary: This morning, guests will set out on another trek, this time our destination is Arjuna Volcano.  Along the way, we will pass two smaller peaks, Kembar 1 and 2, both part of the same mountain chain as Arjuna and Welirang.  This trek is a bit shorter and will take 3-4 hours.  At the summit, guests will have time to wander around and take some pictures of the gorgeous panoramas that can be seen before heading back to camp.  From camp, we will set out on another journey to Lawang, a small tea plantation near the highlands of Tretes.  We will stay here for the evening, among the lush vegetation and humbling mountains.

Itinerary: This morning, guests will have the opportunity to explore the plantation a little more thoroughly.  Whether you are gazing out at the acres and acres of lush greenery or strolling along one of the trails that surrounds the plantation, you will be able to relax in the fresh air and appreciate the way of life at the plantation.  Afterwards, we will travel the four hours to Mount Bromo. Along the way we will pass through small villages and beautiful landscapes.  Upon arrival, guests will have the rest of the afternoon to rest and relax before our early morning tomorrow.

Itinerary: Guests will have a very early morning this morning, rising at 3:00am to begin the trek to the top of Mount Penanjakan.  From the summit, guests will watch the sunrise over the magnificent horizon, Mount Bromo, and surrounding mountains and volcanoes.  Guests will then continue on horseback to the crater of Mount Bromo before returning to the hotel for breakfast, packing up our things, and traveling to Ketapang Harbour.  From the harbour, we will cross the Bali Strait to Legian.  We will arrive at the hotel late and guests will check in, eat dinner, and enjoy a good night’s sleep.

Itinerary: After breakfast at the hotel this morning, guests will transfer to the airport to fly to Labuan Bajo.  Upon arrival, we will board a private boat to sail to Komodo Island.  Upon arrival on the island, we will disembark and begin a trek through the forest, keeping our eyes peeled for a Komodo Dragon.  Along the way, we will see all other sorts of wildlife that lives on the island: wild boars, deer, water buffalo, and tropical birds.  Before returning to the boat for dinner, we will visit the Komodo Dragon Museum with our guide to learn more about the amazing creatures.

Itinerary: After breakfast on board, we set sail for Rinca Island this morning.  Though the island is smaller, we have a greater chance of seeing a Komodo Dragon in its natural environment, due to fewer tourists that frequent the island.  Rinca Island is another place that we will have chances to see other kinds of wildlife.  In the afternoon, our group will sail back to Labuan Bajo, where we will spend the night.
